I was thinking that if a star in space was for example a 1000 times bigger than our sun,and the light from that star reached earth what would happen. Would the light envelope earth, be intensely bright, by maybe a 1000 times or what ???

Any star you can see, it's light beam is hitting your retina... that is why you can see it. But is that light still travelling towards you, and does it increase in size as it gets closer???
