Well I see it this way. Zigbee is short-range low-rate wireless data transfer...power use is extremely low. That's how the lights 'talk'. ADRC doesnt compete with this at all, it compliments it. ADRC is used for on-boarding of the lights to the light network. It does the handshake so to speak. Currently Philips hub will auto detect the lights but from what I see often doesn't detect them all and each lights serial number has to be entered manualy to the hub. So they are having a few problems. Sounds frustrating on the install. I can see ADRC slotting well in there to solve that problem.
Will Philips go for that solution who knows....we can only hope!
