One thing I do hate so far with RC devices that communicate to Bluetooth, WiFi etc is they are so clunky and take ages to set up, and usually with a limited brand specific interface, and every one is different you have to learn.
After a year or so you would be lucky to buy a replacement controller if its lost or damaged. being able to use your phone would solve that issue.
