    re: Lihir Gold - Next Takeover Target..BE CAREFULL Sure the story sounds good ... but with Lihr you very much have the situation of all your eggs in one basket .... sure they're great big golden eggs on Lihr Island in New Ireland but its also on top of an extremely geologically unstable region of the western pacific as well as being in a not so stable country .
    You will have to hold for the medium term but I prefer Newcrest with all its assets now in Australia, Ridgeway now producing at cost $75poz and funding and construction for Tefer underway .... Telfer will make the Superpit look a minnow.
    Of course make your own decision but be very carefull with LHG!
