Lihir Gold to "outperform," target price raised

NEW YORK, October 3 (newratings.com) - Analysts at RBC Capital Markets maintain their "outperform" rating on Lihir Gold Limited (ticker: LHG), while revising their estimates for the company. The target price has been raised from A$3.50 to A$4.40.
In a research note published this morning, the analysts mention that the recent strike on
Lihir Island is expected to result in a 2% reduction in production from 803,000oz to 791,000oz. The gold forward curve starting price estimate has been raised from US$700/oz to US$730/oz. The EPS estimate for FY07 has been reduced from $0.08 to $0.07. The EPS estimates for 2008 and 2009 have been raised from $0.12 to $0.13 and from $0.15 to $0.16, respectively.
