I was understandably excited when I came across iWebgate (ASX:IWG) trading at a large discount to its float price, just a few days after listing.

IWG opened at 20c, and was soon trading below 15c.

Not dissimilar to CVT, which also dropped just after listing as seed investors cashed in their chips.

The big difference here is that IWG didn't actually float at 20c like CVT did...

IWG actually listed at 40c and raised its $5 million pre-listing funds at at that price.

It was sold so impatiently on open that IWG began trading at a 50% discount... and became even cheaper after that.

In fact IWG is still trading at just 17c...

On a discount to listing price comparison, this is like being able to buy CVT at 8.5c!

IWG's looks to be on track for a multi-hundred million, and possibly multi-billion dollar valuation, because its technology allows the creation of multiple, compartmentalised networks that are completely invisible to potential security threats.

You can think of IWG's technology in the same way as a company intranet - a network that is only available for use by employees of that specific company.

But IWG's tech can activate hundreds of these "intranets" at the push of a button... and they can be deactivated with the same ease.

This eliminates the need for firewalls... as security is now at the network level.

Just a quick further explanation of how IWG technology can not only eliminate the need for intranets, but also the need for firewalls.

As you can see in the diagram below, firewalls are used as a protective barrier between networks, for example between a LAN (Local Area Network) and a WAN (Wide Area Network).

With IWG, the firewall is no longer required as the network itself becomes segregated from and invisible to all other networks - the LAN no longer needs a firewall to protect it because the WAN has no way of finding or interacting with it.

If this isn't a disruptive, world beating technology, I don't know what is...

Every company on the planet can now replace their expensive, static, cumbersome intranets with the iWebgate "compartmentalised network" solution.

IWG has created a portable, invisible internet that can be switched on and off at will.

And these portable, cloud-based internets still live within and are connected to the world wide web.

IWG's tech removes the massive CAPEX required for a company to build and maintain its own intranet - with iWebgate, they can now simply bargain hunt for the cheapest cloud providers to host and run their virtual network, or networks.

It also brings the security of an intranet down to price levels that are affordable for small business... which opens up an entire new market.

With IWG, groups with only a few employees, has access to enterprise-grade network security.

What about providing security for the emerging trillion dollar trend that is the "Internet of Things"

    IWG has that covered:

iWebGate is pioneering a new form of virtualization technology – the Virtualization of Network Services.

Having previously established successful businesses servicing global financial organisations, government, hospitals the team behind IWG identified a growing need for faster, more secure and more reliable access to networks and network services.

IWG identified security and collaboration shortcomings associated with network connectivity; limitations of traditional network architecture were found to restrict customer interactions, business process and commercial potential.

The resulting product is the commercial delivery of virtualised network services through iWebGate’s Virtual Services Platform (VSP).

This platform’s patented technology enables organisations to securely, swiftly and seamlessly and provide a virtual network of services in front of all other networks.

iWebGate’s technology has won multiple industry awards including national winner of the Telstra Innovation Challenge, worldwide winner of the Global Security Challenge and recipient of Commercialisation Australia’s 2M grant – a recognition of the significance of iWebGate’s innovative technology.
