IMO if it was only a better than even money bet as you say I would be buying at these price levels. However the market for this stock, which has historically appeared to trade on non-public information, is telling me the odds are closer to a 100% chance for a very poor half. Your naive logic is along the lines of bad stock = sell at any price, good stock = buy at any price. What is important is odds times payoff, not just the odds.
