The bit in the announcement that is worth noting is the areas that Axiron wasn't necessarily developed for, but can be used - ie diabeties, obesity. This is a BLOCKBUSTER product.
It will be used for a whole range of ailments and conditions - some known, some unknown as yet. Feeling tired? Depressed? Axiron. Low libido? Axiron. Overweight? Axiron. If you can appreciate the level of (over) prescription of anti-depresants and stimulants - then you can start to get an appreciation as to what Axiron can do. Plus, testosterone is natural! Not a foreign chemical.So the resistance to take up will be a whole lot less with , I suspect none of the bad press surrounding the alternatives.
Just as Viagra was initially developed for a heart problems and then found a willing market elsewhere, so to will Axiron be used by physicians to deal with a whole slew of ailments.
Lilly knows this and is backing itself to make over $1b in revenue from this over the next 3 years. This will be the biggest deal in Australian biotech for at least a decade. When they talk about better news to come, they are really saying EVEN Better news. Enjoy the upside fella's this is a long term growth stock. My prediction is well in excess of $3.50, but either way we are holding this baby for the long term now.
