This seems a little different. Dan would have been entitled to a huge amount of shares, with some in escrow probably etc, so why throw all that away? My gut says because he doesn't see the IPO happening... either that or some serious disagreement with the other founder. Dans the one with all the corporate experience too... red flag for me.
