Oil shale still in its infancy, but possibly the use of EOR here as used by Chevron. One advantage appears to be the temperature there being mainly in a range of 427 and 438 degrees C assisting extractability.
I am no expert, but have done some reading, and very happy for more knowledgible comments. It would appear that the source rock and S1+S2 is good for liquid production, and the TMAX temps are close for onset hydrocarbon generation around 440 degrees. But my question besides EOR, is whether the source rock is mature enough. A high TOC and S2 indicate potential yield is ver good to excellent. High TOC being 10%, whilst we edge towards that, most is 4-8.
Other considerations are capex, environmental and infrastructure. A possible JV for the back burner, giving us a free carry % for the long term.
