    Kenuppa.

Yes, it certainly was a goer and was strangled simply for political reasons.

The product was very environmentally friendly being very low in things such as sulphur. Ever heard of acid rain?
No matter what happens with CO2, and other sham agreements that multiple countries may agree upon, most will never come close to meeting those agreements. They will simply agree to agree and then carry on as before.
The point is that there will be a very long period between the world agreeing to reduce emissions and it actually happening.
This fuel could have greatly reduced emissions while still using existing technology.
Aircraft have an economical life of 25 to 30 years and will need to get that sort of life period to not have the airline go belly up. The same with cars. This principal also applies to most other equipment such as ships and trucks and myriad other machines.

A company named Southern Pacific Petroleum was also shafted by the greenies when they had a similar product.
They were producing and started shipping under an off-take agreement with BP to supply BP's refinery in Sydney.
The greenies protested so much at the Sydney off-loading point during delivery, that BP took the easy way out and cancelled out.

Both these companies were legitimate  businesses, with Australian citizens investment monies, and were developing a necessary industry in Australia which would have helped our balance of payments as well as our defence capabilities.

Hitler's propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels said :
" If the lie is big enough, and you repeat it often enough, then the people will believe it".

Do we want to live in a dirty world? Of course not, and so I am all for cleaning it up but, scaring the daylights out of children to the point of them committing suicide is not the way to go about it.

I will finish this lecture with a quote from the  first Earth Day in 1970.

“Population will inevitably and completely outstrip whatever small increases in food supplies we make,” Paul Ehrlich confidently declared in the April 1970 issue of Mademoiselle. “The death rate will increase until at least 100-200 million people per year will be starving to death during the next ten years.”

There are an infinite number of these dire predictions by the world's eminent scientists - remember we are told to trust the science.
Simply search " Predictions from Earth Day 1970".
