    The reason java would shoot you in the foot is that you will have a connection through your cloaked IP to the website you are on, then if a java app on the website needs to talk back to itself, that traffic wont go through your tor connection and would default out your network card,  giving away your IP.

    You are playing with the wrong linux distro's if you are researching security, you should be using Kali and studying to sit the CEH exam.
