    I realise there are are positives and negatives for each Linux and Windows.

    Linux certainly has some short comings as does Windows. It is also a hefty learning curve for many newcomers as it is a somewhat different feel to Windows. Windows users coming to Linux seem to always want Linux to BE Windows. Linux don't want this!
    Mainly because having a completely graphics oriented interface really limits your power and functionality! It is worth learning the basic and most powerful shell commands.

    All up, Mint (in particular) is extremely good considering all the offerings and the FREE price tag!
    Try it and then after a few weeks of making an proper effort to learn a little about it and (hopefully) some the main shell command too, make a decision. Other than the serious gamers, I doubt many would toss.

    Then, there are the people who are still totally hamstrung by their paid legacy of commercial vender products. They "like" Windows, and always will. LOL
