Same here and recently realised why I like it so much as I needed to use a Windows m/c for one operation and found myself lacking any sense of trust using an o/s which uses so many devious ruses to coerce users into a belief that they are caring for their well being.
Back to Mint and I have confidence that I can update the software as recommended with no thought of being used.
Major difference is of course that Windows is a commercial product which one never owns but simply pays for ad infinitum,whereas Mint is for all intents and purposes owned by the user.
