re: linux operating system. madmacs. worth a try Hi guys, if you are looking for an easy to set up linux option try ubuntu (its debian based). I have got it running on my laptop, dual booting with xp. A breeze to install and not much to configure, it even got my ati 3d card to work straight out of the box along with my modem. No need to worry about nasty windows viruses or trojans... its rock solid stable. Every device i have plugged into the various ports has been recognized and configured straight off the bat. You can drag files off your windows partition and place them anywhere you like. With programs like vmware and wine you can even get some of those windows program to run under linux.
