Seriously, a large dia buried pipeline won't be visible 6-12 months after construction.
I have just been involved with a 22km long 1m dia water pipeline through the Yarramalong Valley west of Wyong ... its prime rural land (lots of horse studs etc) and from my observatons contractor/landowner relations were handled well.
The pipeline route is already barely visible in many or the earlier sections.
Here's the rub ... the Yarramalong Valley has had a really strong protest group for years against coal seam gas exploration by the likes of Sydney Gas and whoever bought them.
What chance contractor/landowner relations would have been so cordial if instead of a 1m dia water pipeline it had been a 450-900 dia gas pipeline lol?
What's in the pipeline matters nought from an environmental perspective.
