Chris Ellison’s Mineral Resources is one step closer to capturing Bald Hill after making a $123.9 million deposit on the lithium mine, as rumours strengthen that his company is behind a share raid on takeover target Azure Minerals.
Alita Resources announced to the Singapore stock exchange late on Wednesday that MinRes had repaid the secured debt owed by Alita — totalling $73.9m — and a $50m equity payment.
An independent expert will determine the final price for Bald Hill — located near Kambalda — and MinRes has previously said it expects the acquisition to be finalised this month.
