You open the books open the mine site for 2-3 weeks tell anyone who is interested to come through and engage final offers due in 2-3 weeks, if they did that then I would agree no better offers.

The process they ran didn't solicite other offers and didn't give time for other offers, you can't expect companies to put in binding billion dollar offers when the admin won't even get on the phone with them, absolute madness the way this entire thing has been handled from day 1 till now.
