ING is giving 2.10% interest, but with stupid conditions like a $1000+ being deposited every month, increasing your balance so that it is higher than the last month (f* people who need to withdraw their savings). Still, I use them.
A dark 6 months? Get real please. You've entered an era of government coddling the general population for their refusal to show austerity and be at least a little bit disciplined with finances.
The only darkness is in your head - the market is off 20% and distressed houses will come on the market soon. If you aren't buying, I don't know what you're doing.
