At the moment share price is about institution valuation.
Tracking TSX Anvil share price pretty well.

Australian institutions have had ample time to top up their portfolio requirements in the past.
Hence the present lull in turnover.

When there is a change of institutions valuation of Anvil - turnover will surge.

Very positive change in Anvil situation (mainly profits as announced) will bring a higher institutional valuation.

Some institutions will splurge to take up as any shares on offer below the higher valuation.

Other institutions - especially Commonwealth Securities - will unload with increased share price.

A statistical - conservative action to keep any Commonwealth Securities holding in any portfolio within a reasonable percentage range of total portfolio value.

For example Anvil (say) represents 5% of total portfolio.
Share price surges to bring Anvil to 7% of total portfolio.

Commonwealth Securities policy indicates 2% of Anvil holding must be sold to bring total holding within the 5% of maximum hold policy.

The message is - Expect surges in turnover when there is good news (or perhaps not so good news).
So obvious?

Forget day traders with Anvil.
Day traders have not played any role in Anvil share price or trading pattern since the shares took off long ago.
