Whether 100,000 shares is a lot or not... really depends on their value.
So if they're $1 ea, that's a fair chunk to move, but should be quite do-able.
If they're 1c ea, then clearly not an issue!
You could probably say that $5k is an average kind of buy for one person.
When trading, my rule of thumb for decent liquidity is:
My parcel size should be less than 1% of the typical daily volume.

You might expect volume to tail off in a matter of weeks, or less, depending.
How hot is the sector?
Is there hype around the company?
Is it likely to attract cashed-up investors, or small speculators?
How's the broader market doing?
