There will be many new batteries at various stages of development coming online for the rest of time. Many of these are trying to raise money and are making claims at the bench level with very small battery prototypes. LIS is millions in and 14 years to get here. Some of these batteries may not even make it or are 5 years behind any decent chance at going commercial. There is an arms race in batteries and the markets size and growth rate is mind boggling. LIS is not about being the dominant battery in the world (its possible down the track) but its more about securing a percentage of the market moving forwards in different market segments. A lot of batteries have different capacities. Some are good for short bursts and quick charge time while others need endurance, capacity and weight advantages. Not all batteries are the same. The LIS battery is well proven and the pilot plant is getting built this year. This wont be a larger plant, its designed for samples and to show that the process is fully automated. It has already attracted Boeing and more to come. They also have other NDA's signed. Once this pilot plant comes online, then more collaboration partners can get samples and run their own tests. Then its really game on. One large manufacturer decides to use this battery and the stock will do amazing things from here. LIS also has the Nanomesh that works for Lithium ion batteries and prevents dendrite breakdown as well.
LIS is also working on solid state and printable batteries.
