It's all about the money eh angor532 !! I have thought about the article at your suggestion.
I personally think society is wider than that and deserves better than the tripe you referenced in your post.
Was it the grandparents at Bondi Beach, Is it grandparents coughing and spitting at health workers. Is it grandparents abusing and assaulting medical staff due to drug fueled rages.
It's a case where many people of advanced age, but not sure what age you or your reference draw the line as being the problem, that have gone back into the medical workforce to provide much needed resource and experience. They are providing a chance for people of all ages young and old to survive and create their own legacies.
IMHO it's not fair to label all parents, grandparents or the elderly as mortgaging our future, as it would not be fair to label all younger people as being irresponsible.
It's NOT all about the money angor532.
