Its really not clear in my mind! In their latest May2025 presentation they make no reference to SLB and several references to the CNQ pilot plant: eg: slide 5 • Licensed exclusive Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE)technology and up to 10,000 L/d pilot plant slide9 ● 98% lithium recovery from initial 40,000 L DLE pilot test in Calgary slide 11 ● 148 cubic meter bulk brine sample collection completedand in Calgary for upcoming DLE Pilot testing AND especially slides 14&15
They don't always use the cDLE abbreviation for CNQ's technology, and this further confuses it with the many other standard static DLE methods, presumably like the one used also by SLB ( April 14th news communication)
So it's as clear as mud to me. I have contacted CNQ for clarification but am not expecting much of a response. If CNQ's process has indeed been dropped, then this should have been announced to the ASX
