Unfortunately this is one of the key downsides to the use of Lithium batteries. They can overheat and lead to fires as evidenced by this event and others here and internationally in domestic and vehicle usage. Vanadium on the other hand does not overheat and this attribute could more than compensate for the weight disadvantage Vanadium has, particularly in commercial applications. IMO the market will increasingly look to vanadium battery technologies in lieu of Lithium.
