More advantages of flow batteries are that they can use their full rated capacity and be left flat over a large range of temperatures without any detrimental effects on their service life. Lithium batteries are sensitive to all of those things however they do have round trip efficiencies above 90% where flow batteries have difficulties cracking 80%. If the power is going to be wasted if not stored that 10+% isn't very important however if you are planning on trading power by buying during a solar peak and reselling during a higher tariff evening demand then you want the RTE to be as high as possible.
