Years ago i devised a system that used a quick releae and install for forklift batteries, the same system can be used for ev, where you drive onto a position at a recharge station but instead of recharging the battery a robotic system installs a fully charged battery, the batteries have onboard electronics that measure the charge and discharge cycle and amount of charge remaining, you get a variable credit on the battery swap out and pay for the recharge depth.. Bloody simple, and it would be faster than pumping at the gas station.. Did that 15 years ago so that will give you some insight onto how long i have been looking into ev battery technology.
