Yes it said reject, but I meant to say reinject.
if there is a connection between surface water or an upper aquifer used by the locals and the production zone then to avoid the drawdown of water from the surface or upper aquifer to the lower aquifer, then reinjection of water will be required.
I don't know what the EIS requires but it is technically possible to reinject fluid whether that be brine, processed brine or even basement groundwater into the aquifer to mitigate the drawdown impacts.
