Hi ozblue, I think you will find that Toyota and Nissan have already/previously invested in EV tech and thus not playing catch-up like the others.
From what I read, I think there is 3 to 5 years left in the evolution of Li batts, then we move to Li Solid State batts (once they are commercial = more Li demand). However, there is money being invested in other tech, which when commercial will co-exist with Li batts, not replace.
The pace at which tech moves these days, its impossible to predict future demand, and as you have posted before, many analyst are a bit shy with their forecasts/projections, for good reason - previous forecasts have been way off the mark.
Mass adoption already in play, now foregone conclusion IMO.
