Sure, but until "refueling" an EV is as convenient as fueling a car - that is no more than 5 minutes effort and you're good to go, this isn't going to go anywhere.
A bigger problem economically is that when you get a barrel of crude oil and you fractionate it (refine it), you get roughly the same proportion of things and stuff -roughly 20% of a barrel of oil is petrol, 10% diesel, 2%LPG, 4% jet fuel and so on. If say 15% of the drivers in oz went and bought EVs, the price of petrol would plummet, reducing the economic case for additional people to buy EVs because suddenly that amazing v8 only costs about $20 to fill.
The reality is that lithium stocks only growth comes from growing the number of cars - not converting existing cars from chemical fuel to battery.
