NEWS JUST IN: "Big Battery to Power Up the Pilbara." Source: The West Australian 14/4/2018
In brief, Alinta Energy yesterday launched a 30MW lithium battery attached to its Newman power station in the Pilbara at a cost of 45 Million $ - capable of supplying 50,000 homes.
Every time I discover these like announcements (seemingly on a daily basis) it reminds me that more and more lithium is being consumed/locked in to storing and distributing electricity -
consequently increasing demand. Given my circa three years of research on this commodity, based on pure fundamentals, the worlds lithium mines (currently producing and close to production) will be hard pressed to maintain supply. In that vein I suggest that PLS is indeed in the sweet spot when it comes to said supply constraints. And as we all know, the ultimate success of any commodity is contingent on the market/economic scenario of demand and supply. FIRST IN, FIRST SERVED - that's PLS
