The market became hysterical when the lithium price went through the roof. Lithium is too expensive for mass production of car batteries. . Would you pay $25 kg for apples, probably not. You would import apples or eat something else.
Economics is not rocket science. When someonething becomes too expensive. the market finds subsitutes.
