Trading halts are for price sensitive announcements, whether the SP goes up or down is completely besides the point, therefore, for any announcement which will influence share price, a halt should be considered.

If you've been holding and had no immediate plans to buy or sell, what does it matter anyway? You are neither advantages or disadvantages by the halt, it's as if they released the news prior to open, except you have less chance of missing it.

Just get so confused when people make comments like your about the use of a TH when the SP then goes down.... no logic in it.
