Yes, great announcement for this company and sheds light on how Tesla intends to deal with it's junior off-take partners.
They have a couple of years to get into production, which suggests similar timeline for Oz graphite companies if selected.
"On the condition that, over the next two years, the Sonora Lithium Project reaches certain performance
milestones and successfully passes product specification qualifications, Tesla – or its authorised
purchasers – will buy lithium hydroxide to feed the manufacturing of batteries at Tesla’s Gigafactory in
Nevada."
The fact Tesla may opt to be involved with funding indicates they are willing to accelerate junior companies time- to- mine if the resource is an attractive 360 degree proposition. (low cost, environmentally conscious etc)
Would think any Oz graphite stocks in discussion with Tesla would be sworn to secrecy until announcement similar to above is made ... blabbing would be extremely counter-productive given the stakes.
The co orally to that is any Oz graphite company alluding to a Tesla connection is probably not in serious discussions....
