"The corporate watchdog is again trying to collar veteran Perth company promoter David Zohar, but this time it could end in porridge rather than the financial equivalent of a move-on notice.

Federal authorities have hit Mr Zohar with three charges of permitting false or misleading information to be given about the affairs of Aluminex Resources around the time of its brief and inglorious stint as a listed explorer in 2008.

If convicted, the businessman, 62, could face up to two years jail on each count. Five Zohar-directed companies, including Red River Resources and Iron Mountain Mining, told disallowed he had been charged. This comes after an investigation by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, almost seven years after the watchdog launched Federal Court proceedings against Mr Zohar and a private company over the alleged use of bulk mail to offer shares in three public companies."
