My retirement being 35-40 years away :
Short term is anything less than a year.
Mid term is 1 - 5 years.
Long term is more than 5 years.

For the sake of disclosure, my agenda is pretty obvious. I'm a young fella looking for the right entry into Lithium and Nickel stocks for the next 10-20 years. Sitting on 25% stocks and 75% cash at the moment.

I got into a couple lithium stocks too early in april, did way more research, realised I had to exit quick and got saved by the KDR bounce in may. Pure luck there.

I've since then sunk tens of research hours into EV sales, forecasts, policies, lithium production, conversion, battery technology etc...
I try to read most posts on the lithium forums as well but ad hominem and low content are making it a real pain these days.
