Prefer Hitachi myself, for many tools.
Makita for some things.
Hilti is uber-expensive, but good quality.
My experiences with Ryobi cordless have not been good. Bosch was ok, but they were plugin home-handy-man type deals.
Being free of a cord is a HUGE advantage, as long as you remember to charge packs etc.
