Please find a company that uses the current spot price for their valuations?
Contract price and spot price is different, they follow the same trend, and the gap between the two tightens or widens depending on supply.
Spot prices are used as bargaining power in off take discussions but contracts will rarely (if ever) get signed for the current spot price on the day.
All in my opinion of course.
