I don't bother to jump in here very often. But i do get annoyed at times with the misinformation that flies around. Do people even check or understand the numbers they use? It's not hard.

How much actual lithium in an electric vehicle? 8kg. Or so. Semantics, but the spot price of carbonate and hydroxide could triple from here and it would make only the tiniest difference to the manufacturing costs, and thus retail cost of the actual car. Not saying they will triple. I've no idea. But I do know that high "Lithium" prices are not a barrier to people being able to afford an electric vehicle.
