I am well aware of the situation regarding "rare earths". It is an unfortunate and misleading name.

However, China is the main processor of rare earths and have decided to severely restrict the supply to others, especially the USA.
This is just China being China.

The supply of rare earths is not a problem but unless other countries build the means to process them into usable products then they will soon live up to their name.
