Interesting point you make @Rupfel. i have been wondering about this since the Chilean Gov placed that condition on Tianqi's purchase of a large portion of SQM shares. I am not versed in Chilean law but I strongly suspect that the condition applies only to SQM's Chilean assets. I doubt Chile can or would want to legally dictate what SQM does with its overseas assets and do they care? The condition was about protecting Chilean assets not SQM's overseas assets. if this is correct then Tianqi would be very focussed on SQM's overseas assets with Mt Holland at the top of the list. I would expect therefore for Tianqi to be very supportive (even insistent) that SQM take out KDR and the rest of Mt Holland before someone else does.
