bagzz,
These are reasonable questions you ask but unfortunately you cant ask them here. Apart from IDs 68 stang, cobalt play and possibly a few others who may try to help, you are dealing with a selfish clan of some here who want to hear nothing but positive comments, on what they probably consider to be their thread.
The first thing mentioned under the TOU is "Do not be mean spirited" but it seem that is their objective from the start.
This is my reply to your questions:
The biggest fundamental that moves markets is the US Federal Reserve and the statements the chairman makes, usually at it's regularly held meetings. These influence the US stock market and the USD. However as markets don't follow, they lead, often an expected announcement will have a lot of it's price pre built-in.
If the sentiment for the overall US markets is perceived to be bullish in the longer term, as it is now, and if an announcement was not seen as such by the market, the US indices can be expected to go down along with most commodity prices and their related stocks. This, at least in the short term, overrules other bullish fundamentals.
Other country's markets follow the US indices.
Other forms of manipulation can also apply but sentiment and perception play a big part IMO
Often stocks that have gone up the most come down the most.
On a technical basis, the US markets have been in a descending trend since last November. This will need to be turned around and as it hasn't done so, so far.
There are some rules to follow. Some are:
Trade with a plan. Never argue with the market. Let the trend be your friend. When in doubt, stay out. Cut your losses short and let your profits run.
