Not a problem for RIO to buy LTR for half the USD38 billion they paid for Alcan. Yes 50% off the Alcan price is no brainer. Same earnings Alcan = Ltr, but half the price.
If Alcan was dubbed their worst, LTR will be their best. USD19 billion is only aud29 billion at todays fx rates. That’s the NPV at awesome current prices of spodumene.
