With lithium carbonate currently costing $74 per kg, and the average EV requiring between 8 and 10kg, the lithium component cost per vehicle ($740) is a pretty negligible component of the average EV purchase price. Lithium and EV/battery availability is the main issue for vehicle manufacturers and dealers, not the rising price of lithium imo. Plenty of scope for higher Li prices for LTR & others in future without major problems regarding affordability.
