Well noted and so easy to overlook.

The gains don't stop at the convenience of NOT having to string a power cord from the generator, but think of safety aspects of not tripping over the cables and almost total elimination of threat of electrocution from wet power cable connections.

You still see and hear 2.5kW generators running in the back of the ute, but they are either charging batteries or running serious power hungry heavy equipment, like Jack hammers. Even some of those are being phased out in favour of portable units like the big grinders fire and rescue folks use. Not sure about the hydraulic jaws of death they use. The pumps are probably still AC generator powered???
