What if you'd rather go out with a bang than merely retire "comfortably"??
I am completely against this proposal, I don't feel it is fair or right to put a cap on the lifestyles people can live, especially in their retirement, if they wish to enjoy the fruits of their hard labour (with money they earned through hard work just like everyone else). Do keep in mind that in this day and age, $3m really is not a lot either. It'll enable you to live comfortably, sure, but for many (myself included), give me the euthanasia option before forcing me to retire comfortably. I'd get miserably bored after a week.People are living many years longer so that money has to be stretched over a longer time period, and it's easy to burn through it considering how high travel costs etc. are these days
