Complete BS that they are proposing to implement this major change to Super, in such a short term of 2 years. If this was a legitimate strategy, ample time should be provided for Super funds to respond/ navigate/ create new strategies. 10 years is needed.
Its as simple as this - the government knows it impacts less than 3% of Australians. This wont cause them any election votes. Money grab at no cost to their re-election..
Paying taxes on Unrealised gains - what a crock of shit that is. Liquidate my investments to pay for something I haven't sold yet?
IF they are so keen on re-shaping tax (benefits we receive) - why don't they go after Negative Gearing as well?
Obviously this would impact a lot of Australians, and that would cost the Government votes, so they would Never do it.
But who is going to raise a stink about Super funds that have over $3m in them....
As always our Governments are only performing to not lose the next election.
