Here's a real basic back of the envelope calc around potentially selling at $3 and waiting(hoping) for a retrace to occur for rentry:
Assumptions:
1. Holder has held their shares > 1 year
2. Calculation assumes full sale of holding
3. No consideration of SMSF taxation benefits
4. 250k shares held
5. 45c in the dollar taxation (currently owning 60k shares at $3 places a shareholder in the top bracket if sold)
6. Reinvestment of all profit
250000 x $3 = 750k - CGT discount 50% $375k tax free
$375,000 x 0.55 = $206,250 after tax
Total profit = $581,250
If a retrace does occur and the shareholder wants to buy the same amount of shares again:
250000 / $581,250= $2.325
