If you make a sub-standard product, you won't be swamped with orders, even if there is high demand in that market segment generally.
Have a look at some other producers and see how their sales are going.
I'll suggest 2, Tesla and BYD.
The old OEMs are on a downhill run. It happens when there are massive disruptions in play.
