    I can't but think that the large dip has been the cause of the price drops all year. If my recollections are correct it was caused by a drop in Chinese subsidies.

    This dip conveniently occurred at a time that Lithium supply was getting expensive/tight. A major reset was required. This single dip would have created a surplus of stock, a lack of demand for raw materials and the perfect storm to drive material prices down.

    IMO had it continued in the upward direction this material surplus could not have occurred.

    This dip created a buffer that has been fully exploited. China is probably the only market big enough to cause such a single event. In this case a single decision can cause global ructions.

    Deliberate, or not the effect was certainly beneficial to some.

    Just my thoughts.
